Telephone Lines

(Sing it with me now...) Hello... How are you? Have you been alright? Through all those lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely nights... That's what I'd say, I'd tell you everything if you picked up that telephone......

That was my day hahaha. Alright, I headed out and went straight to the post office to call my travel insurance since I was going to the doctor. All Canadian telephone operators were busy. Tried again, and again and gave up, told the lady at the phone desk, who sends me to a phone booth she's activated, that I'd try again later. It was lunch and I finally had my pizza hut and it rocked. I was surprised to find 100 students eating there though haha. I had to sit at a table with 5 other students thats how tight things were haha. I looked at the menu and forgot that in Vietnam you can get the crust stuffed with cheese (which I did because I love it) but you can also get it stuffed with sausage haha. Oddly enough that sounds gross to me yet I'll eat cheese stuffed in there. Oh well, my food rocked, I honestly like Pizza Hut better in Vietnam, just tastes better to me haha. I had my lunch and went back to call my insurance. No Canadian operators were free. I was wondering if there was a holiday back in Canada or they were on strike. When I was calling it was 1am so maybe they were out drinking? I don't know. I went to the doctor anyways, told them what's wrong, got checked out and given meds. Turns out the meds I took to stop my flu caused indigestion and now I have meds to help that out. I came back to call my medical insurance with no luck on operators. If I didn't get them this time I'd be going home, but I had to call them and the bank. So I just sat there, trying and failing but eventually I got on!

I got an operator! I gave them the phone number and let them know I went to the doctor and got some meds. With that done now I had to try and get another operator to connect me to my bank. Tried and failed, tried again, fail, try again, fail, but eventually I got one. I got them to connect me to TD Bank and they hung up on me! Fuck! Try again, and again, and fail. Finally get another one, now I just have to hope they don't disconnect me! I get through to my bank, I fill them on the whole story about losing my card, then they were going to ship me a new one, then the consulate sent it back, then I called to get the card that was sent back to go to my home address. Apparently they said I phoned and cancelled my card. I did, but that was the card I lost, they told me I cancelled the new one I ordered, I told them that doesn't make any sense as I'd have no access to my bank, he understood, I was put on hold a few times and listened to beautiful piano and instrumental songs that were trying to put me to sleep. The post office is a tourist attraction, so I'm sitting on the phone waiting and people are taking pictures of the sets of phones and me looking pissed off and annoyed over the phone haha. Sure I ruined some pictures but I didn't care. Finally he gets back and said he spoke to his manager and it's against TD's rules but they were going to issue me a new card. I assumed it was against TD's policy to cancel a card that wasn't requested to be cancelled! Don't get me wrong, I like TD and will still bank there, this situation just was annoying. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with TD. So glad I called collect because I'd be billed by the minute. The rate was like $1US per minute. Plus I was trying to get the operators, plus talking to my insurance. I wanted to get home before the daily rain and hung out here till supper.

This place needs a Subway. I bet if I opened one up I'd be raking in the cash. Restaurants that serve Western food are normally steaks, burgers, fries, onion rings and eggs for breakfast. What about healthy stuff!? I'd kill for subway haha. I can honestly eat a 6" Veggie Delight with everything no tomato or olives and honey mustard everyday until I died. That's how I get my fruits and veggies. The only other way I can get them here is stir frys and fried rice, which I can't eat everyday unlike pizza and chicken haha. I hit up a smoothie/coffee place and they had a veggie sub. I had their foot long but it didn't fill me up haha. They had a fruit salad, and by that it's just a banana, apple, watermelon, pineapple and strawberries in a big bowl and it was awesome! I was really impressed. I found that something my diet needs and I could eat it daily! Then I went and had ice cream. I gotta get the dairy in me some how. By the way, their milk chocolate here is called Milo, and it's like a powder and water combo, so it's not like chocolate milk haha. Milk isn't big here but they have milk from Da Lat and milk powders, soy stuff, etc. I love chocolate milk, but I'm a chocolate milk snob. I can't drink Sealtest chocolate milk, Beatrice is my #1, Nelson is my #2 and if it's a decent price or after the gym I drink Ultimate Chocolate Milk, which is weird because somehow it doesn't need to be refrigerated, I don't know how but I assume it has some preservative or additive in it. Anyways I think I found my new breakfast, and it's called Fruit Salad!

I'm probably going to watch a movie and go to bed. Tomorrow I might hump it across the city on foot, to a possible market with possible Army stuff. I could take a moto but I'm trying to save funds and could use the exercise. Maybe I can try to jog it, in crocs haha. Probably take the shoes, see how much work I need to do when I get home and back to the gym haha. If I can find it I'll hit up the Air Museum too. Till then I'll see you later :)
